Masanao Hirayama

Date: 2015-01-15 Category:

Born in 1976 Kobe, Japan. Masanao Hirayama is an artist who works on drawing and performance art. His works are filled with black lines which is quite simple but stimulates our consciousness or recognition. Hirayama says that he is not depicting a specific object but let the viewers see what they want to in his work. Although his lines look like drawn with his intuition, he actually draws the same image over and over until he can eliminate his intention in his work and he becomes unconscious. That must be the reason why his work evokes our mind and it is somewhat funny at the same time.
